Project Overbore - LPE 427 complete - 579HP!!!

LPE installed their 427 Darton package (retaining my numbers matching LS6 block). The package is underrated at 550hp, because Project Overbore made 579hp (492rwhp)!!! The transformation took about 5 weeks from start to finish. Even comes with a warranty.
I drove the car back from LPE Thursday in the rain so I didn't have a chance to open it up until this weekend. All I can say is WOW :steering:
Took off from a stoplight onto a highway in Detroit. Didn't get traction until 4th gear. It's almost scary to turn TC/AH off (notice I said almost  )
I had LPE install Kooks 1 7/8" headers with high-flow cats, along with ASP underdrive crank pulley (with alternator overdrive pulley) and McLeod dual disc clutch.
More mods to come - Classic Design Concepts hood/fascias, Wilwoods, Wolfe Racecraft 6-point rollbar, Rockford Fosgate audio, Hardbar suspension parts, QA1 shocks....turning this into a real overall performer
Dyno sheet:

Machining the block (talk about a scary sight :bb )

Big valve job
Can't wait to get it to the strip and get some slips. :yesnod:
Thanks to Tom, Tim, Ed, Jason, Dustin, Jack, Al, Steve and everyone else at LPE! Great numbers!

I'm missing something on the hp #s but damn impressive anyway :)
As for the track, get BIG tires and practice....you should blow my times away due to the torque under the curve....I see high 10s if you can pilot it

MG - I calculated with 15% loss. Doubtful I will beat your 1/4 times - I can't pilot a straight line for nuttin! Heading to Road America in April to tackle some corners though.
Still getting used to the McLeod clutch - very different feel than stock. Smooth engagement but a lot more pedal travel.

LPE GT1 - 218/229 .560/.560 113 CL
Eitherway - Have fun with that monster
If yes, that's amazing considering smog-legal, stock-based intake, plus such a mild cam. Must drive around town like a dream. What a perfect combo of elegant simplicity (no power adders), drivability, and performance.
My fearless prediction would be 10s @ 132 mph in 60 deg. F sea-level high baro air.

Phillip

I think h/c guys would laugh at these specs, never mind big stroker.
That’s excellent power with cats and that cam :yesnod:
It's a pity LPE doesn't put big cams in they're strokers - I wonder how much power it would make with a 24x/24x 6xx/6xx cam with 90mm FAST /90mm TB too
