First Driving Impressions
Just completed the gear swap from 2.73 to 3.42's (A4); changed trans fluid & filter; and installed a deep sump pan at the same time. I kept the stock TC for city driving.
Excellent mod; the best fun for your money mod IMO. She'll break loose and go sideways in 1st & 2nd, and will provide an authoritative chirp into 3rd.
I'm not sure what my 1/4 mile times are yet, but I'm sure they'll be much better.
I put Amsoil ATF in the tranny, and combined with the deep sump trans pan, I'm showing at least a 10 deg. F drop in traffic temps.
I have a BW air intake, LS6 intake man., SLP MAF, B&B shorties, B&B shorty headers, and Nology Wires.
Anybody contemplating a gear change; If I had to do it all over again, gears would be the first thing on my list!
