Has anyone ever used the high temp (1200 degree) paint on their rotors?
I have a new set of rotors and would like to minimize rusting.
I do not think that autocross events will make the rotors reach that temperature.
In the last month I have failed to find someone in the Detroit area that does zinc plating.
Here is what you need!
Dont put it on the area where the pads meet the rotors.. you can steel wool the outside diameter where the vents are..and steel wool the hat area... you can then clear coat.
I used high temp as well. I have about 40k miles. I just steel-brushed and cleaned them really well. I did put on a primer coat of grey, then a good layer of black. The only problem I have noticed is that 2 years of swapping tires at the strip has caused some dings.
I used a product called "cast blast" I believe it is good to 1200 and I've never had a problem. I painted the whole thing, and then went around with a razor blade and pelled it away from the pad area. It completely stopped the rusting in the holes and slots
I've used rustoleum sunrise red on my last two c5's and both times it turned out perfect and did not discolor even after 90+K miles.
You painted your ROTORS... ??????????????WTf??? :smash: :smash: your the first person that said they painted theior rotors red... You are certainly not a follower... you blaze new C5 trials.. but I have a feeling that your blazing them alone.. or you just cant read :p: :p:

What would be wrong with a tasteful red stripe (the part of the hat that would show with the wheels on)? It would give the car the look of a race car right after aggressive braking
