Re-Post.. help with P1416 error
I think I posted in the wrong area.. so here it is again:
I first saw this code, and others that were related, last year not long after I bought the car. It was raining hard, lots of water, and I got the "check engine" light which went away after about 20mins. I looked it up in the owner's manual and it said could be caused by a lot of things including water. I had put on a blackwing right before that so I didn't worry about it. I cleared the codes and watched it.
In December (almost a year later) I got the code again. .. this time I only got the one code. Again it was raining hard so I didn't worry about it. I reset it again and went on my merry way..
Well, it's back again - no rain this time. I reset it only to have it come back later in the day.
I checked the service manual, and once I finally found the code, it says the "right bank h0s2 sensor".. and lists several steps to check the possibilities - most require a scanner I don't have one.
Is there an easier way to figure out what is wrong -
what is the most likely culprit -
will it damage the car to drive it until I can fix it?
Is there a "less expensive" place to buy a new H0S2 besides the dealership??
Thanks!
Lanna

and that the air injection check valves can rust shut and cause this error.

This condition will not harm the car but will cause you to flunk any emissions test where they scan the OBDII information.
