Re: Spark plug gap? (birch64)
They're suppose to be preset from the factory.
I read a response from c4c5specialist saying that changing the gap could loosen the coating and accelerate wear.

Re: Spark plug gap? (lostsoulny)
Don tks for the info. Went to the Delco site and yep, .40 gap. Some were at .40 but some were between .34-.35. So gaped em all at .40.
I had done a seach on the forum but only under recent topics, and not achived... Some great info there.
Thanks a lot to all for your input. Job done and car starts and sounds GOOD!

Re: Spark plug gap? (birch64)
I just replaced my stock AC's with NGK TR55's. The stock ones looked fine and all the pucks were on(7k miles) but the gap on all of them was .057. The NGKS that were going in were at .050....They seem to be running fine.

I dont know about the delco's but the NGK's come pre-gapped @.60'' as per the factory service manual.

Re: Spark plug gap? (molson)
From what I've read, the NGKTR55's should be gaped at .50-.55, the TR60's(nitrous plug) at .60. It sounds like it may be plug specific (iridium vs. non) etc.

I think that's the gap for the AC platinums. I would go with .040" on the iridiums. As the AC-Delco website states: "Do not deviate from the .040" gap" for the iridiums.

Re: Spark plug gap? (StoutMan)
Gapping any iridium plug is a very sensitive operation. It is not recommended with traditional "garage" tools. Any gap +/- .10 from the spec should be fine.
