I've done the search route and know that there is an issue with the clutch sticking at the floor level. My issue is a little different. The pedal doesn't stick on the floor, it just seems to have a lot more resistance/slowness coming up from the first 3-4". I have not had any problems with the pedal staying on the floor, shifting into gear, nor does the pedal feel soft/light when being depressed. Actually, the pedal feels a little stiffer than normal. If I have the car running, out of gear, and then pump the pedal several times in succession, the pedal feels like its back to normal.
My initial thought was air in the lines but with all the concern about the master cylinder/slave cylinder replacement, I thought I would ask the experts. ;) . Is this the initial stages of the dreaded sticking clutch syndrome or a more routine issue just requiring a bleed ?
I drive a '99 coupe, original clutch, 52K miles, stock. Thanks in advance.
gm has a bullitten about the sticking to the floor issue, there solution is to replace the throwout bearing and clutch and pressure plate if it was improperly tourqed when installed. i have seen several diffrent fixes and post on the forum just keep looking.
