CAGS install ( 6 spd ) / battery

Instructions with Mid Amer. CAGS says to disconnect the car battery. Did anyone actually disconnect the battery ? Also, if you did not, please tell me. Don't want to throw any codes...Thanks :chevy

NOPE, did Not disconnect battery for CAGS defeat or blackwing install. Good luck. :steering:

It has been a while but I'm pretty sure I did disconnect the battery. I wouldn't think it is a big deal to leave it hooked up. They are just doing a CYA.

Might as well play it safe but, I believe, the only time that circuit has voltage is when the CPU activates the solenoid and that is when the car is running and you are in first gear. I didn't disconnect my battery but, again it only takes 5 more minutes to play it safe.
