Kooks Install - Day 2 - A Question about the fasteners
Hey all -
finishing up the last stages of the install. I went to start fastening the headers to the cats, and the x-pipe to the mufflers, but noticed that the threads on the supplied bolts do not seem match the threads of the supplied nuts. The nuts would thread on only a little ways, and then appeared to start to strip.
Did I get some bad supplies, or is there something about these fasteners I don't know about?
On my way to Home Depot right now to get some replacement nuts so I can finish up - I'll get the proper fasteners from Kooks later...

Looks like the nuts have a crimp on them that functions like a thread lock to keep them from working loose... mine were the same way....i think you will be fine....

OK - I will give them another try tonight. For the moment, I put some Home Depot Racing :D nuts on there, so we'll see how well those do the trick. I've still got them, and might replace them later if loosening is a problem.
Mostly, I'd like to replace the SAE stuff with metric bolts, so I don't have to carry an extra wrench and socket. Lame.
Thanks for the answer - it sure looked like the nut was just stripping the bolt  , but I'll take a closer look tonight.
