So I arrived home just now and the first of a number of parts for my upcoming h/c swap arrived. The ASA cam and new Z06 springs were waiting on my doorstep.
I had planned to wait until at least getting a new oil pump, timing chain and udp before putting it in, but with an open 3-day weekend staring me in the face, I'm very tempted to change those plans. My car only has 35k on it, so I don't technically *need* those parts, but...
I would not hesitate to start - when you have extra time things always go better. It took me only about 15 to 18 hours to do my Cam and header swap but it was over about 3 weeks. The extra time I took allowed me to keep my head clear whenever I ran into a problem.
If I had to do it again I think I could do it in half the time!!!!
Sometimes it is more fun to mod the car than to drive it...
Absolutely right on that one! My last car used a much cheaper engine and I actually snagged an old junkyard special engine for it off off fleabay just so I could tear it down and see how it looked on the inside. :D
Wrenching is fun! More so when you don't have to worry about getting it back together to drive to work.
