Gear upgrade question??
I know it has been asked before, but I needed to ask again,
I have a 273 and want to put in a 373 gear. Will it make a BIG difference with out putting in a new after market TC?
Please chime in if you have been there and done that

Going from a 2:73 to a 3:73 will give you pretty good gains. You won't be disappointed. I upgraded my 3:42 to 4:10 and loved them. Why do you not want a TC? kaley

I went from 3.15 to 3.73 (car info and mods on my signature). Huge power difference and you can still drive the car in town with no problem. I suggest you change the TC at the same time. You will save labor money.
I suggested the same mod (gears & TC) to a friend and he was also very pleased with the results.

Just installed 3.73s and a pT2400 converter. Drivability around town is great, and she is a rocket compared to what she was with 3.15s and the stock converter. Go ahead and get a converter while you are at it and save the money for going back and installing it later.
