LPE Carbon intake vs. Vararam?
Everyone seems to swear by the Vararam, and my 98 Vert (20K miles only) has a LPE true carbon fiber intake. I just ordered custom LPE headers, and was wondering if I should switch to the "ram" rather than the "larger-than-stock" lightweight Lingenfelter intake?
If it will only give 1-2Hp its not worth it, but if I can expect 8+ I will definately do it.
Also, I have Borla quad tip exhaust, and need advise on what pipes to get for interconnecting the new headers to the exhaust. Andy will be doing all the work once I get the headers powdered in 2 weeks or so.
Thanks in advance and I love this board! :flag

Re: LGP Carbon intake vs. Vararam? (Fulano)
i have the vararam. i like the unit and where it gets fresh air from. i replaced a stock air box with it. that said you would have to be going very fast for any performance gain from the ram air effect...
my belief is there is no difference between the fresh air filter systems.....if you have one already keep what you have.... :)

LGP = Lingenfelter Performance Engineering
When I got my Vette it already had a Lingenfelter Carbon Fiber (real) intake. I don't know anything about it, hence I started this thread.
Anyone seen these before?
I'll take a pic later today and upload here.

Re: LGP Carbon intake vs. Vararam? (vet4fun)
I switched from the blackwing, which is a pretty good filter to the Vararam
and I could tell a significant differance.

Maybe its just a LPE intake cover?
I will email LPE tomorrow as I can't find this on their website either!
-I just ordered a set of custom headers from them as well...hope they will be as good as the LG's!

Re: LGP Carbon intake vs. Vararam? (Fulano)
Yes! That is the Filter! :yesnod:
I can't find the carbonfiber cover anywhere, but maybe they stopped making it. I will call them tomorrow and find out!
Vararam claims 30Hp gains, versus the 20Hp LPE gives...maybe I'll just up to a 150 NX shot to compensate and keep my current configuration. :D
Can u guys see the pics from my link by the way?
Thanks!
