interior blower unit not functioning properly...seeking help
Seeking advice
1999 coupe. interior autoclimate control blower is not functioning
properly. This unit is the electric auto climate control option.
Regardless of the button choosen: floor, dash vents, defroster all
are going on. I cannot choose floor only, defrost only, dash vents.
I get all or nothing. If I choose defroster, the air comes out of
the defroster vents, dash vents and floor. If I choose, floor, same
thing, all vent ports are releasing air. The A/C, heater units are
functioning w/respect to temperature, but air is distributed through
ALL the vent ports.
I notice this last fall before I put the car to bed for winter
(michigan. My winterization included disconnecting and removing the
battery for approx 4 months. I thought perhaps, something wierd in
the computer needed to be reset and that once I reconnected the
battery this spring, things would correct themselves. Apparently
this is not the case.

mine does the same thing its really annoying some one said to check vaccum lines under battery tray but i really don' t have specifics on what to look for.
Re: interior blower unit not functioning properly...seeking help (eaa1964)
If the battery was removed it most likely is the vac line. Also look under the passenger side dash and you'll see the purple vac line that connects to the line under the battery. Be sure the connections are good. Sounds like you have a vac problem... I had the same problem,,, turns out my battery leaked and the battery acid ate through the line under the battery. Good Luck!
