Default Question about switching to Z06 shocks....

I have a '98 C5 with the soft ride suspension(FE1). Is there anything that needs to be done other than just bolting the shocks on? Thanx. :chevy

Just bolts right on.
Great mod, I did the same for my FE1 1999 and I love it.

Good Luck

Nothing else to worry about.
I recently installed Z06 shocks and bars on my 2001 C5 and love the new ride. Much better handling over bumps and holes. It is noticebly stiffer than the original setup but the wife has finally stopped complaining.

No problems at all, get some zip ties to do the fronts with. No need to disconnect control arms. Rears are easy. Definately consider doing the swaybars while you are in there. I just did both, wish I had done it long ago.

I did both shocks and sways last Friday. Very easy job. I ended up using a bent up shirt hanger to keep the shocks compressed while removing and installing. The first front shock took about 40 minutes start to finish and the other took less than 20. The rears....first one took 1-1/2 hours because I had to get a 15/16" socket. The second about 20 minutes. Sway bars took about 20 minutes each.

I would compare the ride to; going from a Lincoln Town Car to a Corvette. It is that much better/nicer. I can actually feel the road now.
