Default Question for a friend...

Buddy of mine, not yet a Forum member, wanted me to post a question about his 6 speed. He has had work done @21st Cent MC here in Dallas, cam, headers, x-pipe, under pully, Z06 mufflers, LS1 edit, air box.... is looking to do heads next. So here are the two questions

1. should he stick with LS1 heads or go with LS6 heads? Cost is about another grand to do the LS6.

2. estimates are this latest mod, with previous mods, should prodouce an increase of some 115 hp at rearwheels. How do you think his stock drive will hold up under the added power?

Appreciate your thoughts! :seeya

Default Re: Question for a friend... (Beast)

Depending on the cam he is running. With the mods you mentioned he is probably around 400+ rwhp now. I find it unlikely he will see a 115hp increase at the rear wheel. That would put you like 500+ rwhp which is stroker range. With heads depending on what type of stage you should end up around 450-475hp.

I don't know enough about the difference in worked heads between LS1 and LS6 heads to know if the $1k difference is worth it.
