The C5R and all race cars I am aware of use a dry sump instead of the typical wet sump like ours--I realize the lube would be better but I am also told you would get a nice increase in HP with the dry sump as much as 20 or better at the wheels--one of our members has this on his car but I never got hold of him to ask the typical who, where, how much, and his impression of the setup--anyone have input on this--would you have to have an oil pan that dragged the ground for instance--better performance etc.
Oil pan clearance will not be an issue at all. Your largest concerns will be placement of the oil tank ( large, 15-20 quarts) and mounting the belt driven pumps ( 1 pressure and 3 scavenging) Try Katech for the parts.
Rox--thanks I will talk to Katech but it sounds like too much trouble for a street ride that runs a track or strip on rare occassions--however the way the strokers eat oil it would be nice to have a 20 quart capacity
The cost of the scavenge pump alone makes this cost prohibitive when you count the gains you get, now for an all out race car trying to get every horse available then it's a different story
THanks guys and thanks Chris but I live in FL and would give up a 100hp for an AC when the bad stuff hits starting soon--sounds expensive and something else to worry about messing up too many pumps I'll just let it splash--thanks guys
