Difference between dry and wet sump?
I am curious as to the differences between the dry sump system of the C5R and the wet sump system used in the C5. I understand how the C5 system works because I have it and can look at the drawings in the manual. I don't have a manual for a C5R :D :confused:

A dry sump system has an oil tank located on the car. The oil pan doesn't hold any oil...it is pumped from the tank to the engine and back to the tank. The real advantage is the ability to hold more oil for heat control and oil breakdown. The oil pan only has to hold the connecting rods in when the engine launches!!! :lolg: :rofl: :lolg:
