'Cuse my ignorance. I see alot of references to an LS1 edit. I know its not done on a relatively stock engine (air intake/exhaust). What exactly is it and when would you have it done? Is this the equivalent of a Hypertech reprogramming? Is this something that only a "Corvette specialist" shop can do?
It is a software that allows you to modify/tune your cars computer. Most people do not have it done (cost is roughly $400-500) unless they have some major mods done to the car. If all you have is the basic bolt on mods then you don't really need it done. Once you start modifying the engine with a bigger cam and some heads then it is recommended to have the car tuned for maximum performance. The tuners get in there and play around with timing, fuel curves, etc... It can be complicated so I would not recommend you do it if you are not familiar with it. Find a good tuner in your area and have him do it once you are ready. Any high performance LS1 shop can do it for you if they have the capability. The Hypertech is a joke, don't waste your money on one.

:iagree: It works on a stock car also" but with mods it really turns lose the power.
An edit to your PCM is what your are really getting. The LS1 Edit package is but one of the available programs and is currently the most popular. However, there are new challengers out there and the new HP system looks like something a lot of people may go to.
Take a look at the scan and tune section for more on this.
