Air pressure sensor problems after new tire install
I just had new BFG KDW's installed on my 99. At first the RF would not readand then it started reading so I thought it was OK. Today on a short trip The right one Did not read for awhile, then Was OK. Then the LF started reading high - 57Lbs. I checked the pressure in both and they were fine. The rear seem fine. Is there something I need to do or did the installer mess them up? Help. :mad
Thanks for the advice, i will reprogram them and see what happens, if they are still messed up I will see what the installer will do for me as far as replacing them.

Eagle...
Goto the "wheel & tire" section, I recently made a post about a similar problem and Y2K helped me out with a "how to re-train your sensors" link.
Look for my post "sensor question"

Re: Air pressure sensor problems after new tire install (EaglesNest)
This problem seems to be fairly common with aftermarket wheels/tires. I don't know if the sensors are being damaged or if the makeup of the new wheel/tire as far as shape, size and material work together to make the sensor harder to read. Typically, the RF, which is the sensor farthest from the receiver in the LR wheel well, seems to lose communication most frequently. It happens with my CCW's and I know a few others who it's happened to as well. The problem seems most prevalent when the car has sat for long periods of time.
I've talked to John at CCW about it and he's more than happy to have me ship the wheel for a sensor replacement but I'm staying pat for now because they're all working well.
