Default Corvette Window Came Out

I posted once before but need more information from the user that glued his back window back with some kind of 3M Marine Epoxy. I will like to know if it is still holding and how he did it. Any other advise besides replacing top would be appreciated. I tried velcro and it looked great for a week until the glue behind the velcro came off.

Back in the Fall I used epoxy to re-glue my back window in a 98 vert. It is still holding. I used an all purpose high strength 5 minute epoxy I found at the local Ace Hardware (it is made by Devcon). I just mixed it and carefully applied it as directed and then stuffed towels against the back of the window to help hold it in place. Only about half of my window had fallen out so 5 minutes was enough (barely) working time. If your doing the whole window you will probably need something that takes longer to set.

Everywhere I called said a new top was the only option so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. Good luck,

Brian

Thanks for the info. Did you position the top part way open so the glass was horizontal?

I will use this as my fall back position. 1st I am going to try a 3M structural 2-sided tape. In fact this might be what was used to begin with. I will do a posting if it works. The tape is called Structural Bonding Tape 9245 Black. It bonds without any extra effort, but will hold even better if heated to cure.

It happened to me as well, but everyone said that I had to replace the entire top. I'm just glad that I didn't have to pay for it.
