Coil over rating and Shock length?
I am interested in putting coil overs on my vette but do not know much. What is the best spring rating for the front vs the rear coils? What is the correct extended vs compressed shock length for front vs rear? My vehicle is lowered about 1.5 in would that change anything in shock length if the suspension has not be modified(except for alignment)?
Any suggestions would be helpful regarding quality of shocks as well. :confused:

I think that it depends on where you will be driving the car and the general quality of the roads in your area. I started off with a 450lb. front and 600lb. rear but that proved quite harsh on the freeways that have ridges. I have currently settled on 375lb. fronts and 450 lb. rears and they are much more rideable on some of the less kept freeways in Southern California. My car definitely better leaving the height closer to stock as opposed to 1 1/2" down. If you want to stay low, make sure that you find exactly the right shocks so that there's enough travel for them to absorb bumps or you'll be in for a bad surprise as far as comfort...
