I have a 99 coupe with the standard base suspension and 65,000 miles on it. There is a roundabout on my way home from work that I like to take fast. When I make the hard left turn around it going about 30mph, there is a pretty loud clicking noise that sounds like it is coming from the front left tire. The clicking noise increases in frequency with speed and gets louder with tighter corners. I recently put Z06 rims and tires on the car. The roundabout is new so I don't know if the wheel/tire change has caused the problem or if it was always that way. The car is not lowered. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
check your parking brake cables, sometimes they can come loose and rub the inside of the rear wheels. If this is the case just pull them toward the center of your car above the rear diff.
It was the e-brake cables rubbing against the wheel weights, I zip tied themout of the way of the wheel rotation as a fix & have no problems since & the e-brake holds just fine..
I found that on my wheels from Bob the front center caps were real loose. I could hear them clicking when I was near a wall (on a round about or on ramp to the interstate). See if your center caps are loose. I put some weather stripping on mine to make them sit in the wheel better and that solved my problem.
