My Stainless Works LTHs have been on my 2002 for about 10,000 miles and I have nothing bad to report. Maybe in the 80s there were problems but if you buy a reputable product and install it correctly the only problem you will have is controlling the increased power.
Great a StainlessWorks owner! I am going to have SW's installed if I go the LT header route. How's the sound, and performance of the LT's you have installed?

I have them too.
Sound: I have the 3" RT cats, xpipe, and midsection. The sound is deeper and a bit louder, more of a muscle car tone. I like it.
Performance:
Before I added them I was running a Vararam, ported tb, smooth coupler, Corsa xpipe, and Corsa Indies. I made 316rwhp. I installed the headers and midsection, and added an LS6 manifold. I made 347.3rwhp. Thats a 31hp gain. Also picked up 35lb/ft of torque.
They are the lightest header package on the market, are built extremely well, went on easily (I did the install myself), and I've never gotten a code. They will never rust, and come with a limited lifetime guarantee. :)
I had Corsa Indys before the LTH install and the headers increased the sound significantly - borderline too loud - just installed an x-pipe and now the sound is mellower - still plenty loud.
With the LTHs, Corsa exhaust , Donaldson intake and an Ls1 edit the rwhp is 330 and the torque 338 ft.lbs. The LTHs provided a sigificant part of the increase. Didn't have a chance to do a baseline before mods dyno - I figure my mods gave me about 40 more rwhp.
Recommend the Stainless Works headers without reservation. The quality is great as is the customer service.
