I was driving last week and the tranny was slamming into 3rd gear (auto) and felt strange. 1st and 2nd were always fine. I let the car sit for a while and the problem went away. Is my tranny on the way out or could this be minor? Could it be debris in the ATF? Thanks.

Re: Tranny Problem (spdnman)
My experience with automatic transmissions is as they begin to fail they slip not slam. Not quite sure what you may have been experiencing. What mileage and how many times has it been serviced? Maybe it's time to drop the pan, change the filter and inspect the fluid. Does the ATF smell burnt? Good luck.

1st thing... check for codes... possibly a p1870h ...ect. may be starting to have a problem in the tcc portion of the V.B.However, you already have the "fix" type valve in there..either way it's the place to start. :smash:

I did have the P1870 H code. Reset and went away. Any suggestions? Does this need to be looked at? I do not want to get stuck one day. Thanks, Adam
