Default RIDE CONTROL

I have a '98 roadster with the selective real time damping option. The car is riding ruff lately. Is there a way to check-out the ride control to see if it is functioning properly or not? Thanx, Larry

Are you throwing any codes? If not, I'd say it's probably OK. Having any tire issues lately? Still running runflats? If so are they getting long in the tooth? Runflats are notorious for being on the rough riding side. Even more so as they wear over time and the rubber hardens a bit. HTH

It's hard to tell the difference on a smooth road. Just find a real rough road and you should be able to feel the difference. (Although, NOT a real BIG difference between the three by my experience)

P.S. If you've lowered the car, you can count on it riding rough on the runflats !

I have the F45 on my 98 that has 106K miles on it. It had been riding really bad for about the last 18 months. I bought some slightly used shocks off a forum member several months ago. Since my car is down and out with a balancer failure I decided to go ahead and install the new shocks. I changed the rears yesterday. I could easily compress the old shocks by hand but I had to put the newer shocks on the ground and lean on them with a fair portion of my weight to get them to compress. It was obvious the old shocks were dead. I will change the fronts today. I got no codes and could only drive the car on the firmest setting to get any dampning at all. Look for low milage used shocks. Some forum members have switched out the F45 system all together for coil overs or other shocks and you can get them pretty cheap. Otherwise new replacements are over $400+ each.

I am not familiar with a company that can rebuild these shocks. They are not manuffactured by Bilstein. They are from Delphi and are from what I have heard not reservicable. Bet please let me know as I now have a set of cores.
