I submit, the quest for 12.99 is over...
Last month, with 3.73's - Stainless Works Headers - Borla Stingers - High Flow Cats - K&N Filter with Swiss Cheesed air box - 160 stat and a Predator tune, my best 1/4 was 13.045.
This month, my only difference was a LS1 Edit Tune for another $425, my best time out of 3 runs was 13.226.
Now, I believe the lower numbers is probably due to a bad tune. Something I'm hoping to contact the guy that did it for me and either get it fixed, or have him remove the tune and give me some of my money back. I'll be sure to post which way that situation goes.
However, even without the new tune, according to other people's mods and numbers, I should have been atleast in the high 12's. Yet the more I spend, the slower the car goes. I mean, people posting "With just cat backs and a blackwing I got a 12.703!". Either my car is a total POS, or I've been ripped off by every person I buy a mod from. The same mods I've put into this car would have done much more then 3-4tenths for any other car out there.
I'm sorry for the rant/whine, but franky I'm seriously disgusted and disappointed with spending that much money for virtually no gain. :cuss :cry :mad
If anyone cares to share some idea's of maybe why my car is sucking so bad, I'd be more then happy to read them.
O'btw, my take offs have had no spin and were all the same (except my last attempt where on a wing and a prayer I tried to manually shift my auto, and got the worst of all my times, so I didn't include that run in my frustration.)
*edit* changed wording of title - post out of frustration messed up my vocab. :boxing

I ran a 12.8@111 with just the vararam on streettires (could have got lower but I left early for work!) but im manual/99 FRC/ and its torch red!

I'm trying to get that also. My best so far has been 13.06; my only mods are a 3.42, gutted pre-cats, Z06 mufflers, and Predator DIY programing.

Doesn't sound much like the voice of experience ;)
You should be in the 12s all day long with those mods....track conditions, weather, and your launch are all gonna be factors.
What are your 60' times and what is/was the weather like?
Also, if you haven't had your car dyno'd and monitored for A/F ratio, you should do that, somehting with the tune could be WAY off....

Check what the LS1 edit guy did (or didn't do) on the shift points!
The comment about 60' time is right on-there may be something weird going on at launch!
I assume you tune was on the dyno-if not that's the next step.
More cost-but 500 to 800 more rpm TC would certainly do it!
Good luck,

With those modifications you should easily be in the 12s. Easily.
A few things go without saying. Take traction control off . I prefer competitive mode which has to be selected each time the car is started up. Put the shift selector in 3. Power brake (left foot on the brakes, right foot slightly depressing the gas) to where the wheels are about to break loose, (about 1500rpm or less) come off the brakes on the third light and mash the gas in one fluid motion, (when the left foot goes up the right foot goes down) and keep it there.
By the way.......you guys wouldn't be running stock torque converters and tires with those big gears would you? What kinds of 60ft times are you guys who are having trouble breaking 13s getting?
With just my 2.73s, in competetive mode, Predator performace tune, Blackwing, smooth air coupler, runflats, Corsa cat backs if I get worse than 13.2X its been a bad run. Best is 13.146 at just under 106mph in 80 degree weather with a 2.0XX 60. No burnouts, nothing fancy.
I used to run 14s before I learned how to drive. Oh and get rid of that airbox and get yourself a real intake system. Blackwing, Vortex, Vararam, doesn't matter anything is better than what you have now. The Swiss Cheese mod is BS speaking from personal experience, as is the ZO6 airlid. I hate you spent $4500.00 and have gotten those results.
I am awaiting my 3.42s and TC and looking for the mid 12s. Click to enlarge

1 - What is your fuel trimishort term at idle.
2 - What o2 voltage at WOT?
If you don't knowt his, stop and get them. I suspect you need a real tune. The one you have can't possibly be right.
Just my 2c.

I would think you should be easily in the 12's with your mods. What were your 60' and MPH?
Just my 2c.
If you had snapped hard to the right,as opposed to "a little" and the PCM applied the brakes and killed your time, and that was the worst thing that happened that day..... you got off good IMO.
It could have gotten real ugly depending on your speed, reflexes and proximity to the wall.

Things to note:
I did not spin my wheels (they are however street emt's)
I was running in Competitve Mode
I was in 3rd gear all times (minus last run)
Temp was 80ish last month - today was 85 - no clue on humidity.
For those saying it's all in the driver... Other then my R/T I highly doubt my skills are causing my car to be that slow (other then last run :p: ).
I'm just starting to think my car is a lemon... atleast I picked the right car for it. :nopity
Any other thoughts? =/
Obviously though; if a C5 with A4 is putting out some serious HP... then I can see Comp Mode getting in the way.

"Things to note:

2.135 60ft time????? you're spinning the hell out of them. Your mph and 1/8 times are slow too. Take a look at Raysvet's 60ft time a couple posts below this one. He is nearly 4 tenths better. That is HUGE. I have heard it said that every 0.1 improvement in the 60s turns out to be nearly 0.15 improvement in the ET.
Never mind, I see you are running EMTs. How much air are you running in them? With those 3.73s you need a tire in the worst way. 3.73s on EMTs and there is very little chance of getting a decent 60ft time.
