I've started a C5 "FAQ" Page - looking for input/suggestions/contributions:
Since jmX has the install stuff covered (heh), I've been slowly putting together a "Frequently Asked Questions" page with info for the C5, to help folks get started on their research when they're doing some mods to their car.
It's still pretty incomplete, but I just thought I'd throw it out to ya'll to see what kinds of suggestions or comments you had, or, if I'm lucky, if anybody wanted to write up their own personal "I see this on the forum all the time" question and answer that I can add to the page.

Great Site and long over due. An addition to the C5 Spring section would be F55 Springs which are stiffer than Base, but lighter than Z51.
Do you have an opinion on F55 Suspension, married to Hotchkis Sways and Z06 Springs in Sport Mode? I'm not sure about the understeer-oversteer thing and how to recognize it. F55 shocks are not something I want to replace, so if it comes to that to achieve a perfect balance, I'll probably live with the understeer-oversteer issues of F55 with the above suspension.
On the shelf are CCW with Z Rosso tires, followed by a Z06 alignment. Lowered 3/4" FWIW. Best,

Thanks for the note, I added the F55 option, which I'd forgotten about.
To be honest, I don't know anything about how well those shocks would work with different springs and bars. For puttering around on the street, I imagine it'd be fine. If you're not competing with the car, I'd probably do Z06 bars in place of the Hotchkis to save a few bucks.

Jake, This is great work
A couple items that you could add to the "Problems" section, if you wish, would be:
1. The column lock, and mention of the CLB kit.
2. The passenger power window stops working. Replace motor.
3. The reverse lights stop working. Relpace switch on transmission.
I don't mean to dwell on the negative, but as a new owner reading about these issues on this forum gave me some peace of mind that "I was not alone".

Great idea!
Just took a quick look. In the exhaust section under x-pipes. You show the magnaflow x-pipe as needing to be welded in. I believe magnaflow's standard x-pipe is a bolt in.

How does it attach on the H-pipe then - is it a slip fit over the stock pipes? I understand there are flanges at the rear, but at the front...?
Roscoe - thanks for the thoughts, I'll add those. I admit I don't know anything about the CLB, so that will take some homework, unless somebody can fill that in and write it up for me.
Added info on pulling PCM codes last night, trying to get caught up on some clutch stuff tonight.

You cut off the h-pipe. It slips on the pipes coming from the front and then clamps are used to secure. The ends on the x-pipe (for the forward attachment) are flared to be a bit larger than the stock pipes. Bolt on for the rears. I believe most of the x-pipes are attached this way.

The CLB-Column Lock Bypass is an aftermarket product, costing between $50-$100, that when installed will disable the column locking mechanism, while allowing the car's computer to believe that everything is working normally. It is faily simple to install. Installation instructions are at this link: http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=24

On the AutoCrossing sections:
All you really need to go AXing is an M2000 or SA2000 helmet. If you plan on doing roadracing or anythig more, go with SA2000.
C5s stock compete in SS (Super Stock). They bump to ASP (A Street Prepared) with a few minor changes. For example: if you put in a rear ZO6 sway bar you go to ASP.
You WILL want to ditch the stock runflats. For now, I am running PilotSport runflats and am doing well considering (about 2 seconds under the ASP guys running kumhos and fully prepped cars). Hoosiers and Kumhos are also popular. Stay DOT to stay in SS/ASP. In SS you must use factory sized wheels. In ASP you can alter wheel sizes.
I'll post more later. Right now I've got a lot of yard work to attend to.

Great information. Only thing I noticed questionable was also comment on the X Pipe gets welded in. I have a Flowmaster and it is strictly a bolt in and I used special stainless wraps instead of clamps. NO WELDING!! That would just invite future rust, bigtime.
