2000 A4 running 12.98 with a Hypertech Programmer
the Corsa Pace Car exhaust, a K&N f1pk, stock MAF with no screen, a 160
thermostat, TB bypass, cold air screens and Z06 tires.
My program setup with the Hypertech is as follows:
1. Select the 160 degree program option.
2. Select a 100% increase in shift hardness
3. Select a 6400 rpm redline just to get it out of the way
4. Select +3 mph for the 1st to 2nd shift and +6mph for the 2nd to 3rd
5. Must run on 96 octane gas since the Hypertech knock retards on 93.
If you are concerned about using the +3 and +6 shift points which on my
car was about 6300 rpm then start at +1 and +2 and work your way up to
where you feel comfortable. The 2000 has the highest lift cam (.500) of any
of the LS1s so I would think that other years would be safe but use your own
judgement here. The 96 octane, I used 4 gallons of Sunoco 93 with 2 gallons
of the Sunoco 100. How do I know it was knocking ? I bought a Predator and
used the real time diagnostics to monitor the knock retard. I bought the
Predator since the Hypertech would not handle my new 3.42 rear. I just sold
my Hypertech on Ebay since Iam very happy with the Predator and if I had
to do it over again I would not have bought the Hypertech, since no amount
of pleading with them over the phone would thay fix their programmer to
handle a 3.42 rear. I just wanted to let people know that the Hypertech is not
a total piece of junk like some people want you to believe.
