Does anyone know if there are fuses that run the compressor, or am I wishing I don't have a major problem. Lots of warm air when the a/c is on. The car has 65K miles on it. Also it seems as if cooler air is coming from the passenger side vents. Could this be possible?
Yes, there is a fuse for the A/C. On my '99 vette it is #24 (10 amp).
If the fuse is good, then the compressor may not be running due to no refrigerant in the system and out on low pressure switch.
The warm air coming out of your vents is probably due to the compressor not running and just recirculated interior air.
If the system is out of refrigerant, then there is a leak and it should be repaired before recharging.
Good luck
