I've yet to see or hear of a small block chevy that doesn't eventually leak there.
I'm not familiar with the c5 motors, but all the previous cars I've had with that block have leaked there.

What color is the fluid? Clean it well and check it periodically to try and tracee it down. In that location it just about has to be a trans seal. :rolleyes: :confused:

Since the trans is in the rear of the car you can probably rule out engine oil as a leak. Clean the excessive fluid really thorough with something like brake clean drive the car about 10mi. and recheck the leak. Possibly as simple as the pan gasket but could be the front pump seal.
