I'm at the end of my install and I need to know what I can do to pressure test the system if I don't have an air compressor??????? any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!
I did not pressure test mine...I just drove it! If you hear air whistling, check the air box connection and the hose clamps. In regarding the filter, make sure it is installed correctly.
Good luck...you will be impressed when you drive it!
thank you for the responce I just got back from driving it and it seems not to be whistling, but I know the filter isn't sitting quite right. the vararam filter fits just fine but the K+N doesn't
I really don't think I did but my filter doesn't seem to be sealing correctly also the dirrections say it takes 30-40 miles for the car to adjust and I haven't gone that far yet
Do NOT use the K&N filter. Use the supplied Vararam filter.
The K&N filter is NOT designed for ram-air use. The material will eventually compromise under high wind pressures. That is why the Vararam filter is better as it is designed to be used under ram-air pressures. Read the warnings on a K&N filter. It states NOT to use shop air or any high-pressure air on it.
The K&N can also cause problems if it is over-oiled. It will cause your MAF sensor to throw a code. The Vararam filter does NOT use the same oil.
The newly designed Vararam filter works great. It seals correctly and filters better than stock paper.
K&N doesn't fit perfect, takes a bit of finangling to get it to seal up.
It's fine for use with the Vararam. We all know that there's no true ram air on street cars blah blah blah. It's just a really good cold air setup. Comparing an air compressor to a cold air induction setup is insane. I've used K&N on my last 3 cars that had 'ram air' setups on them. 2 were SSes with the Fast Toys Ram Air setup, for several years. Never a problem.
Hmmm Ive got to tell you. I had a little noise like piston slap here, and A little noise from my top down there, But after I bolted on all my bolt on's on, all those little noises went away. it was crazy!!!!!!!
