Just got my car back last week from the shop installing all of the parts in the sig. The only issue I have with her right now is the damn "Active Handling Warming" DIC warnig then the "Service Active Handling Soon" poopie. I done some research in the archives & from what I understand it is because the computer thinks the car is not going straight when it use due to the fact the tires where mounted on a different position then when the were taken off. I gathered that we need to test the voltage at the light blue wire coming out of the steering & turn the wheel till we get approx 2.5 v. Am I right till here guys ?
If so, can someone who has done it before walk me through the process . Thanks in advance :seeya
C1283 Excessive Time to Center Steering - sounds like your steering position sensor has gone bad. Not an easy fix, as the column has to come out, but something several members have done on their own. Did they do an alignmen on your car? It may be as simple as they set your steeering wheel off center and it just needs to be physically centered with the sensor (which migh still be good). That happened to me. As for the "warming up" issue, does it stay on for an extended amount of time? i.e. more than 20 seconds? I had the same problem with my old '99, and it turned out to be a broken wire to my MAT sensor on the airbridge. One wire was broken inside the connector. Check that first - it's easy.
Thanks. No they haven't aligned the wheels yet. I will doing that soon. Then I will do the voltage fix. If the problem doesn't go a away after the alignment.
How can I check the AT sensor on the airbridge ? It is attached but how can I check if wires are broken ? They seem fine... I swapped the air bridge when going with the Granatelli CAI so this might be a culprit as well.

For me it was easy - I pulled on one wire and it came out of the connector completely. Wouldn't have known it was broken or disconnected just by looking at it... You can trace the wires back a little ways - just make sure it's solid at the connector end.
