Default passenger window regulator

My passenger window will not go up or down. I hear a clicking noise as all the other readers have reported. I've removed the door panel, unhooked the connector and have got the regulator loose inside the door. What is the easiest way to remove the regulator. I'd like to re-oil the motor and try that before spending at least $200 for my warranty deductable. I don't want to get those cables off track. It looks pretty difficult. Do the cables come loose from the regulator? I've tried all the tricks others have done to get it to work, even cleaned the connectors. Thanks for your help. :nonod:

I would reinstall the 3 motor bolts and the connecter.Hit the motor area of the inner door with the butt of a screwdriver while holding the down button this usually gets the motor started again. If you want to remove the regulator, first remove the 2 13mm bolts holding the glass in, then slide the glass up out of the door and set it out of the way. Remove the 3 10mm motor bolts and connector. Remove the 2 10mm on the top of the door and the 2 10mm on the bottom of the door, push in the plastic holder for the cables and bassicly twist the regulator assembley untill it comes out of the door. It is one peice and shouldn't get damaged during r&r. Just make sure you line your glass up when you reinstall the assembley.

If you do take the window out, be sure to mark the vertical and horizontal locations of the window in relation to the window seal with masking tape. It makes it a WHOLE lot easier to align when putting back in.
The only way to really lube the regulator is with it out. You'll need to take the housing cover off of the regulator and use lithium grease or similar to lube the cable wheel. Then, spray WD-40 down inside the cable sleeves and some in the motor housing toward the stator bearing. Its work for me and two other vette owners and has been for about three months now!
