Default CODES Fuel system lean bank

This is the 2nd time my check engine light came on my 04 Z06 700 miles on vehicle. First time about 2 weeks ago P0171H fuel trim system lean bank 1-B. Now today while driving engine light comes on I check codes . Again the P0171H fuel trim system lean bank 1-B and P0174H fuel trim system lean bank 2-B. Any one know what might cause this, The only mods are blackwing carbon fiber air duct and ghl exhaust.

Thanks
Russ

I had a similar problem after installing a cam. See my earlier post for possible factors that could cause these codes: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=809740

I was running a Blackwing Intake, LG LT headers, Carbon Fiber Air Duct, and Borla Stingers before the cam and NO codes. However, the addition of the cam (albeit a mild one) pushed the car over the stock AFR limits toward the lean side. Dynotuning and LS1Edit fixed the problem.

Check your connections to see if they're loose between the TB - CF Air Duct - Blackwing intake. I had an erratic idle because two of my clamps were very loose, which let in unmetered air. I tightened them and was good to go.

Good luck! Mike

It's your Blackwing. Buddy has a Blackwing on his '02 Z06, and just the other night it went hog-wild with throwing codes and saying check engine. Has to do with your MAF ingesting unmetered air because of the ability of the aftermarket intake to obtain more air than stock and then causes a lean condition...

Or something. :skep:

Check clamps / etc for air leaks. I would then disconnect the battery for a few minutes to clear the PCM memory. Reconnect and go for a drive to check it out. :yesnod: :)

Mike,Bob,Greg Thanks for the information. I not happy the way the carbon fiber air duct connects to the map sensor. I tightened that clamp down a little more, Afraid I might crack duct if I go any more. I'll see if that makes a difference. Otherwise I might wrap some tape around the map sensor where the bridge connects to make for a tighter fix if this don't help.

Thanks Again
