What is the concensus about the B&B Bullet exhaust for our C5's? I am looking at a GHL or the Borla Stinger. Been reading some on the B&B and haven't seen many posts regarding them. Does this mean to stay away or are they not that popular but still a quality product? I want a nice, deep tone, if that is possible with the C5. Don't want it obnoxiously loud, just obvious to the normal person. Any other recommendations? Thanks in advance.
I really like the sound I get from the Borla Stingers! I was also impressed when I had an opportunity to hear the B&B Bullets on a friends Z06 (EFI-1). You can't go wrong with either one. You will probably see more messages on the Borla's because they've been out longer than the B&B. If I didn't already have the Borla's it would be a tough decision.

Glad you liked it Mike. I love my B&B's. If I had it all to do over again, I'd definitely go Bullet 4 tips again. The only other system I would consider would probably be the Halltech Ti...but $2500 is too steep for me.
If you're looking for a mellow, not loud, sound, go with the B&B Route 66 system. I have three other friends who own C5's and we all have the Route 66 system. Nice sound, louder than stock, but not obnoxious. Depends what you're looking for!

Re: Billy Boat Exhaust? (yossele18)
Put on borla stingers  ...Sounded "great" 1st thru 5th---loved em. Put it in 6th to ck on cabin noise, was going home (300 mi drive)  My gosh I couldn't even turn the radio up that much. Called shop & told them I would be right back in the morning to put something else on!! :( Put Z06 ti system ;) Not 1/3 as loud but still sounds great. At least now I can hear myself think & radio. :yesnod: :seeya Joe
I have bullets now and i had stingers both sound great stingers are louder with more resonance stingers have a little more tone and and less resonance. Both are great though
I have B&B bullets. I must be deaf because I have read posts about how loud these are. In my opinion these are not too loud. They are just right and sound awesome. I have the two tips and compared to the tiny stock four tips, these two tip Bullets look mean. I will say that there is some resonance when cruising on the freeway but it is not that bad at all. I can still hear the stereo just fine. Just my opinion though.
I and a friend have the BB Bullits, the sound is awesome but the quality is questionalable, pin holes in the welds, the gaskets are the worst I've seen in 30+ years and the tips are not the same lenght from side to side. We fixed the pin holes and used our old gaskets. Still waiting to hear from them on the differant tip lengths. The sound is great, sure turns alot of heads.
I wanted mellow cruise and a deep tone when accelerating hard... I heard the Route 66 system and it was too quiet... Bullets are loud, so not for me. I went with B&B PRT's with quad oval tips... For me, it's just right... Nice idle and startup sound, nice deep tone when accelerating normally, definately louder when accelerating hard, nice and mellow when cruising, and a slight pop/burble when decelerating... NO resonance in the cabin so I can still talk and listen to the stereo... Borla's have a reputation of resonating, to the point some people claim their significant others won't ride in the car for long periods... You can hear the B&B exhaust sounds on their website, BBExhaust.com. Listen to as many as you can find on C5's if you really want to know how they all sound ...
I thought my Corsas were rather quite until I installed LGM LTs and Random Cats. Now they are way too loud! You must consider all the exhaust system before considering mufflers.
I had the Borla XR-1 and I did not like the resonation in the cabin that it created...But the XR-1 sounds really nice on the outside. I have the B&B PRT's and I love the sound if the exhaust! I think that the B&B is made much better then the Borla.

Sounds like you got a defective set Spiderman. I was one of the first to receive my Bullets, and they fit almost perfect the first try. There were no pinholes in my welds, and everything looks fine. Check the sig for pics.....
I have B&B PRT's with TriFlow shorty headers and Random Tech Cats & X-pipe. The sound is awesome, a real deep raspy growl. At wide open throttle the car really screams. There was a little resonance from 1100 to 1600 RPM when the stock cats and H-pipe were on, but after switching to the Random Techs & X-pipe the resonance is virtually eliminated, it only occurs at approximately 1000 to 1100, so unless you're really lugging the engine you never hear it.
The big plus with this set-up, is I gained 26 hp over the stock set-up ( I have other mods as well, the gain might not be as high with a totally stock engine), plus I don't have the heat and clearance issues that the Long tubes have. I also don't have to worry about melting O2 sensor wires, everything fits just like the stock set-up.

:iagree:
I have the same system and like them too - its all a matter of taste and preference. Come to the cruise-in or check out a local corvette club and listen to as many different set-ups as you can. Keep in mind that if you later install LT headers and high flow cats, it will get louder still.

B&B's are not for you since you mentioned the word "obnoxious". To me, they aren't obnoxious, but to someone concerned about that word, I believe they would be disapointed.
As for quality....mine were great. There were a few threads about the quality of their welds and hardware a while back on this forum. I ordered mine a short time afterwards and B&B must have gotten the message.
Mine came in looking like a work of art and I've been around welding for over 35 years (I'm 37 y. o., LOL). The hardware was very good, and it took a whole 45 minutes to install them using a lift. The tips fit up with zero problems. Common sense and tools are required for installation however.
