Kooks install, which gaskits to use.
I'm installing Kooks headers, x-pipe and hi flow cats on my 03 Z06. I purchased all new gaskits from Chevrolet as I feel these are better than those supplied with the headers. The gaskits supplied are of a Garlock material(I think) and the header gaskits from Chevy are metal crushing type, is this correct? Just want to use what works best... :smash:

Can't you reuse the ones on the car?? MTI told me that would be the best thing to do with a low mile car, mine only has 12k on the odo.

Well, I was told you can use the old ones too, but I just decided for $30 I'd get new ones. I'll reuse the cat back gkts cause I just put the Stingers on 500 miles ago w/GM gskts. As for the install, I was going to do it myself, I have access to my buddies lift, but He didn't want to tie it up overnight and have to park his Porsche outside....... So I guess I'll save myself some skinned nuckles and have Fbodycentral do it in Jessup, Md. This week is going to go SLOW......

How much are they charging for the install?? The only place i could get around here wanted 600 bucks and 2 days to do it. :crazy:

I used the "paer" gakets for mine and they do leak a bit. (I seperated the stock ones when I removed them.) My advise is to use the stock metal ones...I think GM definately figured-out exhaust gaskets and these ones WORK. Chris.
