I bought a 2004 z06 a couple of weeks ago. It has 600 miles on it. It has a Halltech Stinger intake on it. Any ideas why the engine check light stays on????

Happens sometimes when you mess with the air-flow, eg. change the intake.
As others have said, check the codes and write them down.
Next, clear all codes. This should turn off the "check engine" light.
Then drive the car for 10-20 miles, including some wide-open-throttle.
Now recheck the codes to see if any codes are "current," eg. labeled with "C."
If there are current codes, look them up at the links others have posted above.
Usually, the offending code was thrown by a transitory event related to changing the air flow when installing the new after-market intake. If so, it will disappear once cleared. If not, the likely issue is an air-leak that can be cured by tightening the connections. But if that is the case, you probably will feel a loss of power too.
