Failed LF speed sensor 1000 at dealer
Wheel Hub is 7-8 hundred at the dealer plus labor. Quoted 1k
On rockauto.com it's 511.
At GM parts direct it's 384. (plus 66 frt?? need to call)
I hope it's the correct part - seems like a large price diff..
Part number is 7470569 on http://www.gmpartsdirect.com
Anyone ever change one? Any tips?
I am about to change rotors and calipers (have a warped rotor) and figure its a good time to do it.
Sorry, should have posted in the general forum.
Oops cover that? :yesnod:

The 02 wheel sensors won't work with a 99. Probably have to swap them out the next time you get new tires. There are usually sensors on ebay or on the forum. Just drive around with traction control off and sensors shouldn't give you any trouble.
Will check prices local parts stores.
thanks
Roy
Since yours is an 02 (and z06's didn't have them that year), you can have yours turned off...
As far as the speed sensor, I'd try Gene at Karshop. He'll probably make you a killer deal on a lightly used one...
Gmpartsdirect shows you the dealer cost on the part, and they make all their profit in the shipping (hence the $66). It usually comes out way cheaper...but used should still take a lot less...
It is cheaply made.
You have to buy the whole hub assembly
....Are there grounds for a law suit....
Class action...for not selling individual parts only packaging them as a complete units to increase there $$$ sales.....
Are there any Esquires wishing to chime in..
The reattachment and tape has worked for me.
Dealer did this for free, unpluged harness, cleaned it, reattached and taped in place Then he cleared the codes....no issues since. :seeya :seeya :seeya :seeya
It is cheaply made.
thanks for the info..
BTW - someone asked be for the autozone part#
Made by Timken - 513139

Not sure where you would specify right or left.. Looks like they should be the same.

Well the threat of a class action suit is sometimes what is needed to get GM to do the right thing......... :seeya :seeya :seeya :seeya
BTW when you bought your car thru all your research, did they disclose that if you need a $50.00 wiring harness....that you would be required to purchase a $1000. wheel hub assemply just to get the piece you need...
I think not
Or that if you purchased a 1997-2000 they came with ACID batteries.
GM has known for years about the issue with positive terminal leaking
Do you know what is under the battery??? Computor and wiring harness..... The replacement of the harness is approximately $5-6,000. how many did they leave the owners hanging with?????
I quess lawsuits are to teach them a lesson for screwing people
Gm's logic as well as most companies is to weigh change cost's, to not changing ( corvettes' built in a year) 35000 times $$$ say(the difference between a dry and a wet battery) $50.00 times 4 years equals $7,000,000...well they manage the risk against that.....Now do that for all vehicles GM makes.....So now were talking real money.... They have used the same battery for 10 years or more!!
Want to buy some tabacco, little girl ???
Lawsuits are not the answer.....companies as well as people being responsible is the answer......
Praise the Lord and pass the ammo

Front Wheel Bearing 7470569
Rear Wheel Bearing 7470571
Autozone, http://www.chevypartstore.com, http://www.rockauto.com/
Timken OEM part numbers:
Front Wheel Bearing 513139
Rear Wheel Bearing 512153
Rock Auto is $184.79 for the front. This is the same bearing as only Timken makes them and it is a Timken part number.
The GM part tends to run double.
My guess is that you don't need to replace the bearing. It may just be you have a loose connection at the sensor, or need to replace the wiring harness which is part #10332527 for either front right or left.
