Anyone know how to fix the peeling on the targa top. I took it in to get painted and the people said it was a film that needs to be replaced....Anyone know how to remove old film, where to buy and put on new...thanks :chevy
I had the same problem. I brought it into my brothers body shop, sanded it down very smooth, and applied new clear coat. Looks great!!! Should cost you no more that $150.00 to have done.
A very fine sandpaper with air sander is best, and gradually go to a finer grit until all cracks and peeling is gone. Then, spray clear on top. Be sure to mask off the frame and latch first.
Does anyone know if the very fine etching or very minute looking stress cracks that are common are in the top or are they in the clear coat. My car has some very very fine looking marks that can be seen only from the
inside of the car looking up through the clear top on a sunny day. Would
a new clear coat paint fix this or is it a problem with the glass?
