Coupe hatch problem

Coupe hatch problem
Anyone have a solution for this? Up until last week I could open my hatch with the motor running by pulling up on the emergency brake. All of a sudden this doesn't work anymore. The hatch still opens with the button if the motors off. A PIA when I'm dropping my son off at school.

Thanks JRC problem fixed. Add brake fluid ;)
FYI found out that this is a design feature (dash emergency light does not come on) to give you a heads up that your pads are worn and need replacing. Great forum.......GREAT CAR

If the fluid level is down, don't just immediately fill it - check your brake pads, front and rear. The brake system will use more fluid as the pads wear and the calliper pistons must extend further to slow the car.

It's also an indication that there is a leak in your break system somewhere, I had that problem a while back when i had the calipers off to install rotors. One of the break lines didn't seal properly and fluid was leaking. I found that out when i went for a test drive. fortunately, I was close enough to home to get back before the master was empty.
