I've had the Kirban shifter in my C5 for about 3 years and 30k miles. It has since become quite notchy. My Vette mechanic doesn't think it's a synchro issue, he thinks it lies with the shifter. Has anyone else had their Kirban become very stiff? Any adjustments I can make? Should I try another shifter?? Thanx.
You could look into shifter with boot off and see if it needs to be greased/siliconed. I notice a lot of lubricant down in the shifter when I got mine installed. I'm sure one of the tuners can help answer this better but don't dump your shifter just yet....

You might also try taking the shifter out of the car and lubricating the shifter shaft where it goes through the shifter block. When I first bought my car it was hard to shift. After the lube..........Big Difference.
Humm... seems unlikely that it is the shifter. If you are going to the trouble to take it out to mess with, why not put the stock unit (you kept it, right) back in and know for sure?
