I need help diagnosing a rattling noise coming from the front of the engine. I recently had an accident and the front clip of the Vette was struck pretty hard. Since then there has been a slight rattling noise coming from the engine bay. The vette is in the shop and the mechanic that the body shop took the vette to can't seem to diagnose the problem. In fact he said there is nothing wrong. Well that doesn't make me anymore comfortable with this horrible noise. I have already replace the upper belt tensioner and that didn't solve the problem. Any ideas that I can take to the body shop to see if this problem can get resolved.
Perhaps the left one of those 7mm bolt headed screws off and the retainer is rattling.
I'd put the car in the air my self and start hitting things (with my hand or rubber mallet) to see if I could locate it. If not I would remove the lower spoilers and access panels and see if something is broken or loose. Perhaps fog lite brackets or corner lamps?
