Help Gear carrier question 2000 6 speed to 2002 A4
Can anyone shead some light
I have a 2002 A4 and just got a 342 from a 6 speed car and the shop that is doing the install says it wont fit???
Is that True??
Please help as they want more money for a new carrier and its not in the budget right now

Yes, it will fit. They must remove the adaptor from your old rear end (it looks like a round disc with an o-ring around it. Other than that, they are interchangeable! You also need a reprogram on the auto or it will not shift correctly.

Yeah I know I had to reprogram but they say it wont bolt up

it will fit; but the "seal plate" needs to be removed from the front (transmission) end of the diff and placed back onto the 3.42
