Talk about adding insult to injury !
Friday night I broke my output shaft at the track. No big deal. Call AAA get it down to Cartek for repairs and be back to the track by Friday. WRONG ! Had to wait 4 hours for AAA. Had to push the car outside the track gates while I waited because the track closed. Then the flatbed guy loaded my car and was pretty careful so I thought all was well and went home. WRONG again! Come Monday morning I call the guys at Cartek and they tell me when they dropped the car off the bed of the truck was full of oil and there was none in the car
So I went down to Cartek this morning to check it out myself. Dave and the guys were nice enough to push it in while I waited so we could see what happened. Apparently the driver left the hooks under the car and the car bounced up and down on them and put two holes in the oil pan and cracked the bellhousing :mad
So far the tow guy has been cool about it and accepted responsibility and is going to pay. Which shocked the hell out of me. We'll see when I try to collect tommorrow.

Very good of the tow guy to fess up to the problem being his own. At least you did not try to drive it anywhere and seize the motor. Here is to a quick fix.

Duntov if it makes you feel any better my worst day at the track I got beat by a Civic (a 10 second Civic) and the right bank of my Corsa exhaust fell off on my first run. Just to rub salt in that wound on my last pass I broke a shaft on the line and had to be pushed back. Friends helped me get the car to Norris Motorsports and Mike did a great job putting in hardened shafts and a 3.90 gear. Unfortunately the gears were'nt heat treated properly by the German manufacturer and I had to get them replaced a couple months later with 3.73s because the 3.90s weren't available.

Sorry to hear that. I have heard of that happening to one other person. It's nice that the tow guy is taking responsibility and hopefully he'll follow through with it.
