Rear Axle Seals: Re-Failure
My apologies if this is a :_dupe: , but wanted to share this experience:
My '03 Coupe had been to the dealer twice for the rear seals problem; each time they fixed the side that had failed.
Then it started doing it a third time, very lightly, from the right side, at about 1 year of age and 8800 miles. On the third visit, I was informed of what is apparently an upgrade to the seals and the sealant used. Here are the numbers I was given:
Prelim. Info. Bulletin 01363A
Lubricants: 000 089021677
000 001052358
Seals: SPO 089047953
SPO 088996703
Very cheap parts BTW.
One last  -
When I picked up the car, I found that the Kerbeck license plate surround had been removed and left on the front seat. How cheesy is that, just because they didn't sell me the car. As if they would ever get to sell me one now.
old news but good to see it brought up again, I'm sure someone will benefit from the thread.
and the plate frame issue, that's kinda funny to me. what makes dealerships think they have the right to brand my car and have me advertise for free anyway?

Re: Rear Axle Seals: Re-Failure (Red Gump)
I understand that the majority preference here is to have no dealer identification on the car. I kept the Kerbeck one only because it means something to Corvette cognescenti - as opposed to Joe Schmoe Chevrolet.
