When I get on the throttle pretty hard, sometimes, my clutch will stick at the point right after engagement on the floor. It is not slipping at all, but the pedal does not come out all the way unless I reach behind it with my foot and pull it out. Once I give it a little pull, it pops right back out all the way. Could my clutch going out even tho its not slipping?? The previous owner had brand new 02 Z06 clutch, slave & flywheel installed about 25K ago.
Sorry to say, once the pedal starts to stick, a new clutch is in your near-term future.
Happened to me on both my 01 and 02 Z06 after about 100-125 launches per car. Pedal begins to act up.
It is best to replace the clutch parts (rotating disc, pressure plate, and flywheel) and the associated hydraullics (slave, master, throw-out) once the pedal start to act up. This is because, (1) no one I know has cured the pedal issues by small half-steps and (2) If you make strong shift on the street or track during a "pedal event" you can do some significant harm to the tranny, since the clutch is NOT DISENGAGING reliably when these conditions are present.
So the choices are to stop hammering the go-pedal or do the complete clutch very soon or risk hurting the tranny too.
Most racers would advise to get an after-market clutch, particularly if you plan to run the car.
