Muffler Help Plz!!!
okay, stupid question.... if i go down to midas mufflers or one of the muff shops in my area will they have a decent sounding exhaust? whats the process? i really dont want to buy from ecklers or those types of places. does the muff shop have that stuff stock or do they just make it there in shop? plz help me with my intelligence gap.

I wouldn't count on a local muffler shop being able to fabricate an exhaust system to equal what the specialty exhaust people sell. They spend a lot of time and trial and error working out bugs before they market their systems. You could end up with bad interior resonance or lousy sound. Listen to others and find one you like and just order it (or find it used on the forum). I went with the Z06 titanium system cause I didn't want to attract too much attention every time I got on it. And I do that alot! Good luck with your search.

I recommend checking the Parts Sale/Wanted area for a new or used performance exhaust system. I think you will find several for sale at a reasonable price compared to a non-tested hacked together solution at a muffler shop. Just my .02$. Make a post in that section that you're looking for a CATBACK exhaust for approx. $XXX and you'll probably get several good responses. If you want to buy new - some of the least expensive options are: Borla Straight Pipe System for $329.00 (Very Loud) or B&B Bullet Exhaust $529.00 (Aggressive - little resonance) :thumbs:
