Installing ZO6 exhaust
I was told my 04 coupe would have to be raised at least 4 feet to get the stock mufflers off and the new ZO6's on. Is this correct? :flag

Not quite four feet. Somewhere between 36-40" high in order to remove the stock exhaust and install the Z06 exhaust uncut.

You'll probably have to jack your rear up about as far as a regular (non-racing type) jack will go. The rear end is going to be a good 30+ inches off the ground.

I doubt that you can get it up high enough with a common floor jack! :skep:

if you can't get it high enough - I was able to get mine off by taking the rear wheels off the car. It gave more maneuvering room.

It also helps to remove the rear sway bar.

Re: Installing ZO6 exhaust (Safetyman)
I've done it twice with a buddy of mine - once in my garage on my car and once at his place on his car. Both tims we used our own floor jacks with a 4"x4" on the jacking pad. The front wheels were on ramps but we had to be careful about them backing off the ramps when jacking because the car walks backward as you jack higher. Other than that, it was a piece of cake - just make sure you block those front wheels off. The bottom of the rear fascia needs to be ~36" off the floor.

I second the motion on this.
Drivers side is easy in and out.
Passenger side needs a little more persuasion (twisting, etc.).
Would hate to do this w/o a lift.

Put the front on rhino ramps. Jack up the rear. about 34". It is easy. Feels good to be able to do it. Drop the sway bar. Mufflers come out easy.

Don't forget to re-torque the sway bar mounting hardware.

Re: Installing ZO6 exhaust (TomsZ06)
I had mine done at a shop, $40, no way would it be worth it to do it myself. It took them less than 30 minutes.Including aligning the tips,,,,
