Default L E D Temp on air and heat

I have a 2000 and the le4d light goes out as I start driving. Everything else is working fine. Can this be fix at home or is this a dealer fix. thanks :confused:

what LED?
The one that tells you what temperature it is outside. Does this happen at night too?

I assume you are referring to the HVAC display. It is sealed and must be replaced as unit. Expensive $$$.

Thanks for the replies, The problem is constant now. the led light has not come on at all today. Are you saying that because the light is out I need a new hvac unit? YIKES!!! :(

acually no after u remove ur dash as if you were installing a short shifter u can then remove the control unit which is held in by i believe just 2 or more screws. you can then dissasemble the unit (have faced down to keep buttons in place) then you should be able to gain access to the led's these may be sorta hard to find ur best bet is going to an automotive electrician if u want the exact led. then just solder the old ones out and the new ones in.. if i remember correctly the leds are pretty out in the open well hope thats any help (also if u dont want to install the leds urself just ask the electrician haha...
