I had asked the question here in this Forum of where the PCV valve is located on my 2004 LS1. According to the shop manual it is an LS6 type located between the TB and valley cover. On my car it is just a plain rubber hose. I concluded that there must be an orfice since it was unlikely the factory left off the PCV valve.
I contacted C4C5 Specialist (ASE Chevy mechanic) to help. He has confirmed that the PCV is now an internal orfice type and the PCV valve is history. GM enginnering will update the service information since it was incorrect.
Hopefully this will solve the oil pooling issue once and for all. BTW, no oil in my manifold but the car has low miles.
I'm getting ready to swap in the Z06 PCV Valley cover to help combat the intake oil problem. I'm curious if there is any difference in the '04 LS1 valley cover when compared to the Z06's.
The LS6 valley cover was employed for LS1 in 2003, I believe. In 2004 they did away with the PCV valve with an orfice design. The goal was to solve the oil consumption problems (also for LS2 C6).
