Default Not Again!

This is the third time in a row, after driving about 15 miles, that my check engine light has come on. It is code P0153 Heated Oxygen Sensor Slow Response Bank 2 Sensor 1. This only started to happen about one week after my LGM headers were installed. What is weird is that my drive from my installer to my home was over 75 miles and the car did not throw any codes. Go figure. Can someone tell me what side is this sensor on and what can I do to stop this from occuring. It is beginning to drive me nuts!
Thanks :mad

It's on the passenger side (bank 2) I haven't had this problem but the manual lists bad connections, loose sensor, burned wire, an exhaust leak within 12" of the sensor, and any silicone sealants that were used on the engine. I believe some silicone sealants have a compound that is designed not to affect sensors. My very uneducated guess would be a loose sensor, connector, or a partially burned sensor lead.

I would suspect either a damaged sensor while installing. Burnt wire or they installed the wrong sensor when they installed the headers. They have to remove the original front O2's and put use the original rear O2's in the new headers. If they mixed up the one on the passenger side that may cause your problem as well.
The only way to know for sure it to get under the car and start checking things out and see if the stamped wattage is the same on both sensors.

I get this code often with my TPIS long tubes. I am not running cats, so I was told this was a by product of being cat less. I can make if go away if I keep the revs over 2k all the time.

Are these sensors interchangeable? If so, I could swap them out and see if the problem transfers to the other side. I don't think I have the wrong sensor installed because, as I stated in my previous post, I travelled ove 75 miles and did not throw a code. I also did check last week for an exhaust leak and also made sure none of the wires were burnt or touching the headers.

That's exactly what I would do, swap them, and remember to hook them up to the correct connector, then see if the code changes to Bank 1.

If I'm not mistaken... I believe it takes 3 occurences of a problem to set off a code and/or the SES, which means you wouldn't necessarily see the code during your 75 mile trip home from the installer if the problem counted as 1 occurence (turn car on drive home and turn car off). I would check the 02 sensor harness and wires to make sure they weren't crossed during install because the sensors can appear to look crossed when connected to the headers based on the header design. The rear 02 sensors are different than the front 02 sensors in that the rear 02 (more expensive) have a stronger built-in heater. For the 2004 we had to keep the front 02 sensors in the front position, but realize the instructions state using the rear 02 sensors in the front position for pre-2004 models.
